Just saw a comment in the game chat questioning a 150+ break.
To part quote "not possible...maximum is a 147"
Just to clarify here's the scenario where with some incredible luck and a lot of skill it is actually possible to make a 155 break.
1. Opponent breaks and fouls leaving all 15 reds still on the table (edit: Opponent fouls before any reds have been potted...see corrective comment from my learned friend SquaredCue)
2. None of those reds can be cleanly hit hence a "free ball" is called (luck required here)
3. You nominate a colour (other than red) as the free ball and pot it (1 point)
4. You pot the black (7 points making total scored now 8)
5. You make a standard 147 (15 reds, 15 blacks and clear the colours in order)
6. Total break is an amazing 155
Rumour is Hurricane Higgins has done it in practice
Late edit your total score in that scenario would be at least 159 assuming the opening foul was not worth more than 4 points.

Re: Maximum Break Question
Great summay, Wizard!
One small note I'd like to add is that the foul by the opponent resulting in the free ball can happen anytime before a red is potted, it doesn't need to happen on the break-off shot.

Fair call I did miss that point about when the foul could be made I must have been thinking about the last time I made a 155SquaredCue wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 10:43 amGreat summay, Wizard!
