Tournament Auto-concede limit

Post by ALK »

Was just in a final where the Auto-concede limit was -10. Opponent potted brown but snookered himself with blue, pink and black left. Auto concede was at -13. So if opponent fouled- not getting out of the snooker it would bring auto concede under -10. However the game suddenly finished. Why? Image / https://photos.app.goo.gl/AJxwKkDptmF9SA998

Hi,

The game has a Claim Frame feature: If the auto-concede limit is passed, the red C concede button turns into a green checkmark. If the player on clicks it, he or she will win the game immediately. This is a convenience feature.

I see your point, though. In the situation you attached it takes a good shot to hit the blue when being snookered by the pink, so the player behind may think the Claim Frame feature is giving advantage to the player in front. However, this is not that simple. WHen potting the brown, the player on knew he would cross the auto-concede limit, therefore he did not have to care about position on the blue. Perhaps it would have been easy to ensure an easy hit of the blue on that shot...

So, the answer is the Claim Frame feature. It was introduced to avoid the unprofessional ending of an already won frame where the player on misses the pot intentionally to end the break.
