How to use Replay Link?

Post by ALK »

When searching replays one can search player and opponent and choose type of game. This is really great by the way. When one does a search and sees the games from that search, there is a link at the far right of a game. How does one use this link. Where do I paste it to watch that game?

Hi,

There are two ways for the direct use of such links:

1: For sharing
Such sqrep://... links can simply be pasted to the lobby or table chat and they will become clickable links to replay the shot, frame or match.

2: For private playback
Use the following chat command to replay a shot or game without posting anything to the common chat:
/replay sqrep://....

These sqregp://... links are handy to post in the forum, social media or anywhere because of the simple text format. Collections are also a possible use for the links, you can simply collect them in a text file or a spreadsheet, together with comments. Maybe a collection of the cleverest shots, for your own use or for sharing it with the community.

Thank you but can you be more clearer about whether or not we can share a link outside of the snookerq platform or not. What do you mean in social media?

Hi,

The sqrep://... links work only in SnookerQ. Sharing the link elsewhere still makes sense, though. For example, you can record a short video of an awesome shot or break and post it on facebook, instagram, discord or anywhere, putting the text of the sqrep://... link in the comment. Interested players can use it to replay it in the game, too.

The Replay function has a "Take over" button, which makes it possible to stop the replay and continue the game from the current position in practice mode:

This feature can be used for different purposes. For example, to test your skills: can you clear a tough table, which the player in the replay could do? Or for learning: practice and learn how a superb side spin screw back shot worked on the replay.
