Availability on home screen

Post by Phil_Morecambe »

Hi guys,

Is there any chance that the "Available" option could be shown on the home screen as part of the drop down box that includes Away, DND and Active?

Regards
Phil

Hi Phil,
The "Active" in the drop down list means the same as "available" or "here".
You can also use the following chat commands to set your status in the lobby or when at a table:

/away
/here
/dnd

Active can mean 2 things - playing already and available to play. I find it frustrating to have to set up a table then invite people who are available to play only for them to either not reply or take a generation to reply.

It would also be helpful if the DND and away names do not appear in when the drop down "Available" is selected as they are by definition not available.

Hi Phil,

I hear what you are saying but the game is live so any one of the people on that list may become available at any point. Would you not prefer to see them pop up as available if they have just been away for a quick break?

I see it differently, sometimes I do not want to play and still get asked if in DND or Away. Maybe Active should be the only option where you can invite someone. Just a thought.

Hi Phil, I can only explain this from my point of view. The first thing I do after I log in is usually to set myself to away so that I can have a look at the forum, see what tournaments are on and such. This does not mean I won't accept an invite if it comes. I'm happy to put those things on hold if I have a game on offer.
Also, I am fairly certain it defaults to away if you haven't been active for a while since logging in.
What I look at when it comes to invites is who is already on a table, and it clearly shows that.
I'm happy to invite anyone not on a table then if I don't get a bite, I will leave the table and have a look at who's playing and who's just watching.
Not seeing that anything has changed over the years really. Invite and see if they respond. If not move on and invite someone else.
