Turn chat off
I usually use chat but i think the option to turn it off completely would be useful, some days i just wanna play some snooker and not respond to "hi gl", "ns", "ul" etc etc.

Re: Turn chat off
Hi,
Press CTRL-D.
Or click the up-down arrow on the left side.
As you probably know, some players will not like it but it's your choice. You can even put something like "no chat, just the game" in your profile or say this when the game begins and then hide the chat window. BTW, you can hide the chat window by clicking the "..." button, too.

Re: Turn chat off
I thrive on chat.
1. The player responds makes me feel more like I am playing a real person
2. You might actually find someone who becomes a lifelong friend like I have through chatting to my opponent
3. Let's you know you are respected as a player and not just playing someone who is basically a robot
Some folks don't do well with chat maybe a language barrier, but I do believe the game is better when the opponents have the opportunity to chat to each other without one or the other going over the top and distracting the other player.
For those who are only in it for their personal stats gain I have no time for you but I will still play you and try to get it over with quickly so I can move into a happier zone. You rarely see a pro player refuse to talk unless they have a reason not to.
