Re: Report a bug all the reds are now black

That looks weird, almost like one of Demon's tricks. ;)

Was it a one time bug or does it happen from time to time?
If it happens again, please try to identify any unusual events before the bug, it would help us a lot to fix it.

Re: sound issue

Sorry for the bad experience. Although the sound is fine for most of the users, this issue pops up from time to time at some of them so it's time to find a proper solution. Perhaps by replacing the current sound library.

Thanks for reporting it!

Re: is luck allowed ?

The latest release introduced the blocking function, you can use it for blocking any messages from players who start to behave inappropriately. You can still report the abuse but simply turning their chat / PM invisible may solve some issues during the game. Read more about the blocking function on ...

Re: Time wasters

There are various preferences, it's impossible to find a single perfect setting for everyone. Most players prefer the no-timer setting, though, because it allows for the occasional phone call / postman / brb cases where the play can continue after a few minutes when the opponent returns. If you pref...

Re: Time wasters

Hi ALB,

That's the point of the shot timer! Set it to 30 or 60 seconds before starting a game or inviting someone. You can also set this timer as default in the preferences (top right corner in the lobby). That way the timer will be auto-set for you whenever you go to an empty table.

Re: Private chat need to select target each reply

You're welcome. It's useful to look around in the lobby, click the buttons at the bottom. The SHORTCUTS button pops up a window with several useful tricks. The TAB key is also described there, click the CHAT COMMANDS button in the window. BTW, the INSERT key can be used to respond to invitations, too!

Hi ALB,

In addition to Qash, you also have to have the necessary Cue Parts. More on this topic and on fusing Cue Parts in the documentation:

Re: Lines on the table

Drawing lines, arrows and marking areas, circles on the table like commentators do for real matches is an idea we had long time ago. It could be very useful for teaching people, sketching shot options, explaining shot selections, etc... However, the main drawback is that this feature would be abused...

Re: My little bug

Hi acediast,

Thanks for reporting the bug! How often does this happen? Is there any event after which the bug appears? Something that could potentially trigger it? Please make a note about what you did before the bug happens in the future and let us know. It would help a lot to find the culprit!

Re: Time Zone

Hi Nick, Good suggestion as it would make it easier to plan games against other players. However, I'm afraid most players would not fill it. Many players don't even reveal their country, which would determine the time zone in most cases. For big countries like Australia, you can always put a short t...

Re: New way of starting a match

Hi, The basic idea is very good as it makes it easier to start playing. Once you get to the exact details, it gets quite complex, though. What happens if the invited player ignores the request? What if he accepts it much later when you already forgot that you invited someone? Will you be taken to th...

Re: Favourite "real" snooker player of your lifetime

Steve Davis! The Nugget! It was in 1991, the Mita World Snooker Masters, when I first saw snooker and it was fascinating. Of all the great players around at that time and later, Davis was always my favourite. A few years later, I bought the Virtual Pool PC game on CD because it featured the first te...

Interesting shots

Let's post links to interesting shots in this topic. This shot from nedal has to be the weirdest one in SnookerQ history: Escape from snooker, hit the same red three times, hit no other balls, pot the red with the third impact and get perfect position on the black. Currently, players are removed from the ranking table after two months. A simple login keeps them there. We can adjust this but it needs a good plan, taking all viewpoints into consideration. Suggestions are, as always, welcome!

Re: Pause Match/Game

Hi Nick, Thanks for the suggestion! The idea of pausing and postponing a match was there from the beginning. It is not too important with the relatively short matches we have today but this feature will be needed when we introduce longer matches like Best Of 19 or Best Of 35 for a World Championship...

Re: Play again

The official name of that rule is "Foul And A Miss" and it is very accurately implemented in SnookerQ. The warning after two missed shots and the frame loss after the third miss, which sacko7 mentioned, are also part of this rule but they apply only if the ball on can be hit full in the face! In som...

Re: Maximum Break Question

Great summay, Wizard!

One small note I'd like to add is that the foul by the opponent resulting in the free ball can happen anytime before a red is potted, it doesn't need to happen on the break-off shot.

Re: How many balls can you place on a snooker table?

Thus, the final answer is 2613 + 9 = 2622 balls . Is that really the final answer? No! As we will see, we can place a dozen more balls on the table! Can you guess how? As nobody has come with any ideas, I'll show you how I could improve that result. No conceptual change really, all we'll do is we'l...

AppImage files work a little differently. After download, you have to make the file executable (from a command terminal or from a graphical file manager tool) and then run the file.
