Re: Tournament Auto-concede limit

Hi, The game has a Claim Frame feature: If the auto-concede limit is passed, the red C concede button turns into a green checkmark. If the player on clicks it, he or she will win the game immediately. This is a convenience feature. I see your point, though. In the situation you attached it takes a g...

Re: 15 second shot time for 10pm Tournament

We had a 10 sec setting earlier but it was abused against new players too often so we removed it.

In the future, we'll have the official Shootout rules, so the 10 sec timer will come back in the 2nd five minutes of the game!

100% is also fun, Demon must enjoy it, too. :)

Re: 15 second shot time for 10pm Tournament

Hi, The 15 sec timer is definitely too quick for some players. In trickier situations it's too quick even for experienced players, too, but that's what makes the 15 sec games fun! Much more chance for a shot against better players, so lower ranked players have more chance to win. The timing of the 1...

Re: Playing with side.... Good video.

Very confusing video tbh... What brown? Where? I'm totally clueless! :D

On the more serious side, nice little hint from one of the biggest characters of the game.
Thanks for sharing it!

Re: Some neat snooker history.....

I played pool at a place where there was no chalk whatsoever, therefore you had to hit the centre of the cue ball every time or it was a miscue. That's what came to my mind when watching those old cues in the video. It's always nice to learn something about the game. Thanks for the link! (Glad you l...

Re: Is there a meaning behind or a reason you picked the nickname you picked?

I love math, physics and computer science. People like this are often called "cube" in Hungarian. I dropped a dimension to arrive to a square and I combined it with Q, perhaps inspired also by the name of the game. Who knows, one day I may file a patent for a square profile cue! :)

Doubles support is indeed in the plans, it will come!
According to the rough plans, player pairs can even be rated! :o
It shall be good fun but real competition, too.

Re: Where are replays saved?

Replays are automatically saved on the SnookerQ server. Nothing required to create them and they can be replayed anytime, even if the physics engine changes in the future. In fact, the oldest frames you can replay in the game were played with a different, old physics engine but the saved games conta...

Re: Where are replays saved?

Sadly, you don't have the option to save your replays locally on your computer Why sadly? A replay file is good only for one thing: to replay it! If it was saved on your computer, you would first have to load it in the game to replay it. I have a suggestion: Think of the short strings like sqrep://...

Re: Where are replays saved?

Hi, The replay information is stored on the server, it does not consume any resources on your PC. You can search and replay any games, not only your own ones. I can warmly recommend watching capo's maximum breaks with the aiming lines switched on. A golden source of snookerq knowledge and snooker br...

Re: Scoring system

Hi, From https://snookerq.com/snooker-rankings (bottom of that page): The difference in ratings gained or lost depends on the rating of the opponent. The SnookerQ rating system is based on the Elo rating system with appropriate adjustments to make it more player friendly. Basically, it's a rating po...

Hi,

That looks like a small handy extension to the invitations window! Perhaps a choice of answer as per BIG-G, plus a free text option. Noted down!

We may do it in a future release.
Thanks!

Re: Access !!!

Hi,

As you can access the forum, the problem is likely with some finer details. Can you check the configuration of your router / firewall? Aren't they restricting some port ranges, for example? Are destination ports between 42000 and 43000 enabled?

Hi, Press CTRL-D. Or click the up-down arrow on the left side. As you probably know, some players will not like it but it's your choice. You can even put something like "no chat, just the game" in your profile or say this when the game begins and then hide the chat window. BTW, you can hide the chat...

Re: Access !!!

Hello,

That screen is presented when the game cannot set up a network connection to the snookerq lobby servers. Usually, this is caused by a temporary network glitch and thus logging in again a couple of minutes later can solve the problem.
