Re: Where are replays saved?

Sadly, you don't have the option to save your replays locally on your computer Why sadly? A replay file is good only for one thing: to replay it! If it was saved on your computer, you would first have to load it in the game to replay it. I have a suggestion: Think of the short strings like sqrep://...

Re: Where are replays saved?

Hi, The replay information is stored on the server, it does not consume any resources on your PC. You can search and replay any games, not only your own ones. I can warmly recommend watching capo's maximum breaks with the aiming lines switched on. A golden source of snookerq knowledge and snooker br...

Re: Scoring system

Hi, From https://snookerq.com/snooker-rankings (bottom of that page): The difference in ratings gained or lost depends on the rating of the opponent. The SnookerQ rating system is based on the Elo rating system with appropriate adjustments to make it more player friendly. Basically, it's a rating po...

Re: Text box on invites

Hi,

That looks like a small handy extension to the invitations window! Perhaps a choice of answer as per BIG-G, plus a free text option. Noted down!

We may do it in a future release.
Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to SnookerQ! There are quite a few former * players here and you'll probably find some familiar names if you browse the ranking list.

Enjoy your games.

Re: Access !!!

Hi,

As you can access the forum, the problem is likely with some finer details. Can you check the configuration of your router / firewall? Aren't they restricting some port ranges, for example? Are destination ports between 42000 and 43000 enabled?

Re: Turn chat off

Hi, Press CTRL-D. Or click the up-down arrow on the left side. As you probably know, some players will not like it but it's your choice. You can even put something like "no chat, just the game" in your profile or say this when the game begins and then hide the chat window. BTW, you can hide the chat...

Re: Access !!!

Hello,

That screen is presented when the game cannot set up a network connection to the snookerq lobby servers. Usually, this is caused by a temporary network glitch and thus logging in again a couple of minutes later can solve the problem.

Re: Live or Dead

Hi, Although I don't know (and have never read) the official rules of other sports, I did read the snooker rules several times and I think it is a well constructed set of rules which cover most aspects of the game. For example, the rules don't leave space for individual interpretaion about what is a...

Re: Live or Dead

Hello Wizard, I think the colours are indeed object balls. White is the cue ball and all other balls are object balls. the ref would just replace the colour on its spot Why would they? The disturbed object balls, according to the rules, stay where they come to rest unless they leave the bed of the t...

Re: Playing shots with white tight to the cushion

Hi Phil, I'm not good enough to give suggestions on that shot, all I can say is that if you find yourself in that position during a break, it usually means the previous shot or shots were poor. If the previous shot was taken by the opponent and you are forced to shoot from the cushion, the opponent ...

Re: Live or Dead

Hi, This is not a simple yes/no question. This is the relevant part of the official rules (Section 3 Rule 10 paragraph (j)): If an object ball in play is disturbed by the striker while the cue-ball is in-hand, the referee shall call FOUL and the cue-ball will remain in-hand for the next stroke, unle...

Hi Phil,
The "Active" in the drop down list means the same as "available" or "here".
You can also use the following chat commands to set your status in the lobby or when at a table:

Re: Real 3D setting

Hello, As most players know, the The Point Of View is available in the game but it's for checking gaps or plants and maybe for lining up some shots, not for playing and viewing the shot. The game also supports the 3D Free View where you can line up any shot. In this view, you can actually play and w...

Re: Free ball

If you can't aim at the target ball, be it a red or any other colour and hit it either extreme left or right side, it's a free ball. It's that simple. It's actually not that simple. When you are checking both edges of a specific red. you have to consider the other reds as if they were absent, becau...

The Free ball rule is not applied correctly as I understand it. I'm quite certain this rule is applied correctly indeed. ...a red it cannot be obscured by other reds. ie if you take some of the reds out of the way so that you can then hit either side of a red it is not a free ball. Exactly! And thi...

Re: SnookerQ User Interface

Hello,

The layouts are optimal around 1920 pixels wide resolution. If you have a 4K screen, some parts of the interface will appear quite small. We will have some font size settings in the future but for the time being, we recommend to change the screen resolution for playing the game.

Thanks for reporting the problem!

The main lobby had an issue which didn't crash it but the normal operation was blocked. We'll fix the problem that caused it. Sorry for the inconvenience! The lobby is up and running again. Enjoy your games.
